ServiceNow Application Developer

ASSYST is seeking a  ServiceNow Application Mapping Specialist  to Support our client project in Washington DC. This is a Hybrid role

Responsibilities: 

  • Complete the mapping of at least 25 assigned platforms (On premise and Cloud),

  • Gather and analyze platform/application details required to develop end-to-end solution,

  • Develop and document a scalable technical approach regardless of underlying technologies (e.g. Java processes, JVM, etc.), that can be leveraged to all platforms that shares similar communication protocol,

  • Develop custom solutions using ServiceNow ITOM capabilities such as patterns, server and client-side scripting, business rules, etc.,

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues or errors, including issues related to Discovery, MID Server, integrations, and other ITOM areas specific to Platform-to-Application mapping,

  • Perform thorough UAT testing,

  • Obtain sign offs for completed platform mappings.

Requirements:

  • The desired resource should possess expert level competency in ServiceNow Service Mapping. In addition to this, following should also be considered as part of the profile:

  •  Minimum 8 years of extensive experience in developing custom solution using patterns and scripts in ServiceNow for Platform-to-Application dependencies.

  •  Experience in ServiceNow Service Mapping should encompass a track record of successfully completing a minimum of 100 complex pattern-based Service Maps. This includes tasks such as debugging patterns and probes, troubleshooting logs for error resolution, creating new custom patterns for mapping essential services, and adapting existing patterns to align with organizational configurations.

  • Extensive experience building custom solutions with scripting and coding in ServiceNow, building custom extension patterns, developing client and server scripts, and creating new business rules.

  • Understanding protocols and technologies such as HTTP, SSH, JDBC, TCP, SNMP, SOAP, REST, API, ESB, etc.

  • Knowledge of Web and Application Servers, Load Balancers, Databases, and Virtualization (WebSphere, MQ, IIS, Apache, VMware).

  • Ability to think out-of-the-box and bring creative approaches to tackle complex use cases.

  • High level of initiative with a proven ability to work independently.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

  •  Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
