ASSYST is seeking a skilled Computer Systems Programmer to support our client in Laurel, Maryland. 

Location: Laurel, MD (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and life-cycle management for COTS applications, including ePermitting and ProjectDox.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and refine processes for software enhancement.
• Design and implement software solutions in alignment with programming best practices.
• Develop customized database programs to optimize COTS applications.
• Conduct unit testing and assist with user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Follow change management procedures for deploying new solutions into production environments.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and document production issues within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
• Collaborate with the IT security team and COTS vendors to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Work closely with COTS vendors to support, maintain, and upgrade applications.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in computer systems programming.
• Proven ability to verify the accuracy of programs through comprehensive testing and preparation of representative data sets.
• Skilled in translating detailed program flowcharts into coded instructions for various IT equipment and languages.
• Experience in designing program flowcharts, diagrams, and detailed programming sequences for data processing and reporting.
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and mainframe systems.
• Proficiency in SQL programming languages.
• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Crystal Reports.
• Strong familiarity with SharePoint, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
