Oracle Database Administrator

ASSYST is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of multi-terabyte Oracle databases. The DBA will play a critical role in supporting complex processes with heavy transaction volumes, with a key focus on performance tuning and Oracle 19c, RAC, and GoldenGate installations. This role also involves collaborating with teams on ERP upgrades, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and ensuring compliance with EIR accessibility standards.

Position will be remote. Program will allow candidates who are within the state (Any location within the State of Texas).

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database 19c, Oracle RAC, and GoldenGate to establish new database tiers.
  • Plan, execute, and support the ERP upgrade project through capacity planning, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform advanced performance tuning on complex processes involving multi-terabyte databases and heavy transaction volumes.
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot database performance, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
  • Direct programmers and analysts to implement changes and enhancements in the database management system (DBMS).
  • Create and maintain test environments for application development, including libraries and procedures.
  • Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures in case of hardware or software failure.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to assess the impact of database changes on other systems and associated costs.
  • Perform logical and physical data modeling and database prototyping.
  • Develop relational database models and implement physical data models from logical models.
  • Implement and enforce database security policies, monitoring access control, and ensuring compliance with EIR accessibility standards.
  • Assist with the installation of new database software, benchmarking, and threshold testing.
  • Maintain the data dictionary to ensure uniformity and consistency across the organization.
  • Provide technical support to users, ensuring data availability and troubleshooting accessibility issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience with Oracle Database 12c or higher.
  • 8+ years of experience with Oracle RAC and GoldenGate technologies.
  • 8+ years of experience with Advanced SQL and Shell scripting.
  • 8+ years of experience managing multi-terabyte databases.
  • 8+ years of experience in advanced performance tuning for high-volume processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft O365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Familiarity with MS Teams and Channels for communication within large teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience working with public sector organizations (Federal, State, or Local Government).
  • 2+ years of experience with SharePoint.
  • 1+ year of experience with Jira for task tracking and management.
  • 1+ year of experience working within the Scrum framework.
