Oracle Work and Asset Management (WAM) Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Work and Asset Management (WAM) Technical Specialist for our client in Laurel, MD. The position is remote. The ideal candidate has to provide technical support, configuration, and implementation expertise for Oracle WAM—a comprehensive solution designed to manage the lifecycle of water and wastewater assets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding on-premises installation, troubleshooting, and maintaining the Oracle WAM system to meet client-specific requirements. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, implementing process improvements, and supporting system stability through customizations and upgrades. A solid understanding of the Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF) is essential.


Job Title: Oracle Work and Asset Management (WAM) Technical Specialist
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation, customization, and maintenance of Oracle WAM.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Design software solutions following programming best practices.
  • Develop customized database programs to enhance Oracle WAM and other COTS solutions.
  • Create and maintain integrations between Oracle WAM and external applications.
  • Conduct unit testing to validate solutions and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Follow change management processes to migrate solutions to production environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain system stability and ensure uptime.
  • Adhere to service-level agreements (SLA) when resolving production issues.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborate with IT Security and vendors to mitigate security risks.
  • Work with COTS vendors for product maintenance, support, and upgrades.
  • Configure maintenance objects and business objects within Oracle WAM.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s degree OR 8+ years with a master’s degree.

General Experience:

  • Experience working on complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders or business units.
  • Proficiency with SQL queries, database design, and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Specialized Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle WAM.
  • Experience working with multi-tiered applications, databases, LDAP, and application servers.
  • Proficiency in developing technical designs and architecture diagrams.
  • SQL programming, Oracle SQL Developer or TOAD.
  • Oracle WAM, Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF).
  • SharePoint, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
