WebSphere - WebLogic Engineer /WebSphere - WebLogic Administrator

ASSYST is seeking a WebSphere-WebLogic Engineer / WebSphere / WebLogic Administrator to develop, maintain, and support the operation of many (in‐house) Java Enterprise Edition applications and COTS products to support the organization’s day‐to‐day operations.  

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Administer IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM WebSphere Application Server, Oracle WebLogic Server, and Apache Tomcat.   
  • Manages all aspects of the multi‐platform application environments including day to day support, CI/CD, monitoring systems, database & systems administration, and general troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments for server management and command‐ line operations. Strong hands‐on experience in writing scripts to handle complex automation using shell scripting languages.  
  • Implements application server clustering. Applies application server patches, Fix Packs and Service Packs. Conducts performance tuning. Configures and updates SSL certificates, data sources, and JDBC connection pool.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure team, platform team, DBAs, network team, security team, Help Desk, change management team, etc.

General Experience:
  • 7+ years of hands-on large-scale system administration including installation, configuration, deployment, cluster management, and production support.
  • Security management – Understanding of SSL/TLS configurations, user authentication mechanisms (LDAP, SSO) and security patches.  
  • Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.  
  • Strong proficiency in scripting and automation.  
  • Well versed in networking concepts.
  • Monitoring and performance tuning.
Specialized experience:
7+ years’ experience in system administration using the following:
  • Oracle WebLogic Server, IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM
  • WebSphere Application Server, and Apache Tomcat.
  • Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management (WAM).
  • Nexus, SVN, and Jenkins.
  • Linux (RHEL7/RHEL8) and Windows platforms.
  • System monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk).
  • Strong hands‐on experience in writing shell scripts (bash, python, jython, jacl) to handle complex automation.  
  • Solid knowledge about web servers (Apache, Nginx), network concepts (DNS, IP addressing, firewalls and port management) and load balancers.
  • Installation and management of COTS products on Windows platform.
  • Any cloud management experience
Education: 
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
