ASSYST is looking for a Junior GIS Developer to support our client project in Laurel, MD (Hybrid location).
The candidate will provide technical support for the enterprise GIS environment Creates scripts and applications to address application needs based on requirements. Coordinates with GIS team and other professionals on GIS related tasks.Assist in the development of geographic information systems applications.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Support implementation and maintenance of the ESRI GIS environment.
- Must be able to work with some direct supervision.
- Must have experience in some of the following: SQL, python, JavaScript, arcade.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to elicit requirements and processes.
- Design software solutions that adhere to programming best practices.
- Perform unit testing to validate solutions; assist with user acceptance testing.
- Follow change management procedures to migrate new solutions to Production.
- Provide production support by troubleshooting and resolving identified issues.
- Follow service level agreement (SLA) metrics when resolving production issues.
- Collaborate with IT team to deliver secure solutions on schedule and on budget.
- Mitigate security vulnerabilities by working with IT Security and COTS vendor.
- Work with COTS vendor to support, maintain, and upgrade applications.
- Configure maintenance objects and business objects in Oracle WAM.
Experience/Qualification/Knowledge Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, GIS, Information Systems, or Computer Science, or related technical field and one (1) year minimum of relevant experience in GIS.
- Good knowledge of ESRI GIS technology suite.
- Experience with ESRI suite of tools and services, Javascript, SQL, Oracle or SQL databases, SharePoint, ServiceNow, MS Office products (Word,
- Excel).
