Assyst is seeking a dedicated and skilled Broadband Field Technician to provide technical support for our local county government client in Rockville, MD.  This role is essential in ensuring the effective installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of broadband services for our clients.

Job Title: Broadband Field Technician
Location: Rockville, MD 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for broadband services.
• Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling (UTP, coax).
• Perform residential installations of internet service and Wi-Fi connected devices.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS).
• Work with network technologies including TCP/IP and wireless technologies (routers and access points).
• Troubleshoot customer Wi-Fi service and devices, ensuring proper power and conducting performance tests.
• Deliver excellent customer service, employing critical thinking skills to resolve issues effectively.
• Educate customers on the operation of equipment and services to ensure long-term satisfaction.
• Update clients documentation on work performed within residences.
• Provision County-owned Wi-Fi routers/devices.
• Coordinate daily schedules to prioritize workload efficiently.
• Assist Network Operations Center (NOC) and Network Engineering staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Basic familiarity with software such as Monday.com and Microsoft Office.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Must possess a personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license to travel to job sites around Montgomery County.
