Assyst is seeking an IT Field Support Technician to support our client’s team in Maryland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support for computer systems, cloud services, hardware, and software. This role serves as the first point of contact for IT support, ensuring a secure, efficient, and reliable IT environment at the WSSC Depot.
Job Title: IT Field Support Technician
Location: Maryland (WSSC Depot)
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the initial point of contact for IT support at the WSSC Depot, assisting users with hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, escalating as necessary to ensure minimal downtime.
- Provide on-site support for a variety of IT needs, delivering excellent customer service.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Set up and manage network components to maintain seamless operations.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace damaged computer and network components.
- Test new hardware and software to verify compatibility and performance before organization-wide deployment.
- Install and update antivirus and firewall software to maintain secure IT systems.
- Enforce security protocols to safeguard data and prevent unauthorized access.
- Provide hands-on support for end-users facing IT issues with computers or network devices.
- Offer guidance and training to users, fostering a supportive and positive IT experience.
- Regularly update technical documentation, including incident logs, configuration settings, and troubleshooting guides.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years in an IT support role.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Windows OS, SCCM, and ITIL methodologies.
- Computer Hardware Repair: 1 year (Preferred)
- Technical Support: 1 year (Preferred)
- Software Troubleshooting: 1 year (Preferred)
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
