ASSYST is seeking a qualified Data Scientist to support ongoing data analysis, reporting, visualization, data literacy, and data-driven decision-making efforts for our client in Rockville, Maryland.

Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099)
Job Location: Rockville, Maryland (Onsite)


Responsibilities:
  • Identify data requirements and perform analyses to support data-driven decision-making for department contracts, budgets, human resources, and other operations.
  • Design and participate in data analytics projects using qualitative and quantitative investigative techniques such as interviews, performance evaluations, statistical analysis, surveys, site visits, and observations.
  • Conduct complex studies and analyses of datasets to uncover performance trends using various tools, including business intelligence software, customer relationship management software, geospatial mapping software, open data platforms, statistical analysis applications, and data integration tools.
  • Establish performance metrics and collaborate with departments to identify problem areas and potential solutions.
  • Develop and maintain logical business models, relational databases, and other data repositories.
  • Communicate complex ideas and findings to department managers, program managers, and other stakeholders through user-friendly presentations, dashboards, applications, and online performance reports.
  • Advise management on organizational and operational performance trends, challenges, and issues in scheduled meetings.
  • Develop presentations and facilitate meetings with diverse audiences.
  • Make recommendations to management, including policy and program improvement options that ensure fiscal responsibility.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Epidemiology, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Data Scientist.
  • Experience working with industry or government data related to budgets, contracts, and human resources.
Proficiency in:
  • Skills: Data Analysis, Statistical Modeling, and Machine Learning.
  • Programming: Python and R.
  • Visualization: Tableau and Power BI.
