System Analyst-3

ASSYST is seeking a System Analyst-3 to support our client project in Austin, TX. This position will be 4 days remote with 1 day (Wednesdays). Only Locals Preferred. 
Responsibilities
  • Lead the migration efforts of the current legacy system to the new modernized system. This includes comprehensive planning, data assessment, cleansing, and mapping to ensure compatibility with the new system. 
  • Document all phases of the migration process, engage with clinical and IT stakeholders for requirements gathering, and ensure clear communication throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Ensure that the design complies with client standards, setting up validation and auditing processes to maintain data integrity post-migration.
  • Perform necessary testing of the migration process, including creating and executing Unit test scripts, managing test scenarios, analyzing test results, and debugging issues. 
  • Utilize established software development and testing standards to ensure the reliability and functionality of the new SaaS solution.
  • Provide regular updates on the migration progress to all project stakeholders including immediate managers, technical leads, developers, and business analysts. 
  • Use ticketing systems for information sharing and problem resolution.
  •  Prepare and deliver presentations and updates to both internal and external audiences to explain the migration process, system functionality, and technical challenges.
  • Facilitate the smooth transition to the new system by providing strategic oversight and support post-migration. This includes training end-users, preparing comprehensive system documentation, and recommending strategies for optimizing system performance based on feedback and performance metrics.
Requirements: 8 years of experience
  • Experience with database management systems, workflows, and data migration, with a strong emphasis on healthcare EHR systems 
  • Proficiency in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Intersystems Cache, or similar database scripting, crucial for efficient data migration to new SaaS platforms. 
  • Experience with Excel, Word, Visio, and other spreadsheet software is also required.
  • Experience in business analysis, including reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating user requirements, operational procedures, and identifying solutions to automate processes or enhance system functionality.
  • Extensive experience in the EHR application domain, including understanding current systems, creating workflow analysis, developing workflows, designing, programming, and providing support using software engineering practices.
  • Experience in documenting process flows, standardizing existing and future process flow improvements by conducting data collection and meetings with subject matter experts to gain a full understanding of system usability and documenting workflows.
  • Experience in preparing specifications for data input/output processes and resolving complex data-related issues using robust analytical skills and logical problem-solving approaches.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, essential for producing clear project documentation and engaging effectively with stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of current IT industry trends and market insights, applying them strategically within the organization.
  • Strong understanding of architectural concepts, principles, and tools relevant to infrastructure, information systems, applications, and organizational structure.
Preferred: 2 years of experience
  • Experience with the Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and familiarity with its document templates.
  • Familiarity with the company’s information architecture and information management methodologies, as well as knowledge of Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Familiarity with existing and planned software technology and the global, regional, and local software architecture and infrastructure components.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance and data security related to healthcare data.
  • Prior experience with SaaS model EHR systems and cloud data migrations.
