Oracle Database Developer

ASSYST is seeking a Oracle Database Developer to support our client project in Austin Texas. This is a Hybrid role.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project requirements and develop both server and client-side software throughout its lifecycle.
  • Perform unit testing and produce relevant documentation.
  • Devise innovative methods for securely handling data across various schemas and servers.
  • Interpret project requirements and implement or maintain database components according to client specifications.
  • Reverse-engineer and troubleshoot complex legacy applications using available documentation and baseline requirements.
  • Provide support for reading, interpreting, and maintaining code in Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and related technologies.
  • Advise team and management on technical decisions and best practices.
  • Contribute to complex database design and optimize SQL queries.
  • Work with additional database platforms such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
  • Write scripts to migrate objects and data across various databases.
  • Develop functions, procedures, Web PL/SQL, and other packages in Oracle Database.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of the Oracle Fusion Middleware Product Suite.
  • Develop and support applications using Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports.
  • Assist in migrating solutions to alternative technologies.
  • Modify queries, deliver new functionalities in Oracle Reports, and guide the conversion of Oracle Reports to other platforms.
  • Collaborate within a large project team, alongside existing database developers.
  • Work independently, demonstrating strong knowledge of security, version control, and software development best practices.
  • Participate in project management activities.
  • Provide after-hours application support and assist with database upgrades and maintenance.
  • Offer emergency support as required.
  • Work with limited supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment.
  • Comply with all applicable agency, division, and branch rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the management.
Required Experience: 
  • Experience designing and developing Oracle databases for applications, including PL/SQL, SSL, entity relationship diagramming and review, table normalization, and performance tuning on relational databases – 7 years
  • Oracle Forms and Reports development and support experience – 5 years
  • Oracle Web PL/SQL Experience – 5 years (Required)
  • Working in a project team environment, Agile Methodology5 years
  • Testing to ensure accessibility and other existing standards are met – 5 years
  • Maintaining effective working relationships – 5 years 
  • Experience with other DB technologies (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) – 3 years
Preferred Experience: 
  • Managing multiple tasks and priorities – 5 years 
  • Leading a Database team – 3 years
  • Power BI Experience – 3 years
