ASSYST is looking for a qualified
Technical Writer for our head office in
Sterling, Virginia.
The Technical Writer is responsible for creating, organizing, and maintaining technical documentation and knowledge resources within the organization. This role involves crafting clear and comprehensive documentation that effectively communicates complex technical information to various audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather technical information and insights.
- Create and update technical documentation, including user manuals, guides, tutorials, and process documents.
- Translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable and concise content.
- Edit and proofread documentation for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Organize and manage knowledge repositories, ensuring proper categorization and tagging of documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and improve documentation based on user needs.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to enhance documentation practices.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS/BA in Technical Communications, English, Journalism, or related field.
- 1-3 Years of experience as a Technical Writer
- Experience writing technical documentation;
- Excellent writing and editing skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to grasp complex technical concepts.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and version control systems.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
