ASSYST is seeking a highly skilled
EHR Systems Analyst to lead the transition of a legacy Electronic Health Records (EHR) system to a modern cloud-based SaaS platform for our client in Austin, Texas.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database management, data extraction, and migration, specifically within Oracle Cerner Millennium and HL7 formats.

Please Note: Position is 100% Onsite at Austin, Texas (NO REMOTE WORK). Program will only accept local candidates for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the migration from a legacy system to a cloud-based SaaS platform, ensuring data integrity and compatibility.
- Conduct data assessment, extraction, cleansing, transformation, and mapping to align with the new system.
- Develop scripts for data extraction from Oracle Cerner Millennium using Cerner Command Language (CCL) and HL7 format.
- Perform thorough testing, including unit testing, test case execution, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy.
- Provide regular progress updates to project managers, technical leads, developers, and business analysts.
- Utilize ticketing systems for issue tracking and resolution during the migration process.
- Prepare and present migration progress reports and system documentation to stakeholders.
- Train end-users, support system adoption, and recommend optimization strategies post-migration.
- Ensure compliance with HHSC standards, regulatory requirements, and data security best practices.
- Establish validation and auditing processes to maintain data integrity and performance.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in database management, data workflows, and data migration, particularly in healthcare EHR systems.
- 8+ years of expertise in Oracle Cerner Millennium, including developing CCL scripts for data extraction.
- 8+ years of experience in business analysis, including gathering user requirements, analyzing operational processes, and identifying automation solutions.
- 8+ years of experience in the EHR application domain, including workflow analysis, software development, and system support.
- 8+ years of experience documenting process flows, conducting stakeholder meetings, and standardizing usability improvements.
- 8+ years of experience in data input/output processes, troubleshooting complex data issues, and implementing problem-solving approaches.
- 8+ years of strong oral and written communication skills, necessary for clear documentation and stakeholder engagement.
- 8+ years of knowledge of IT industry trends, software architecture, and enterprise infrastructure.
- 8+ years of experience leading and collaborating with diverse teams in a high-paced IT environment.
Preferred Skills:
- 2+ years of experience with Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework, Agile Scrum methodology, SaaS-based EHR systems, and cloud migrations (preferred).
- 2+ years of familiarity with healthcare data security, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices (preferred).
