Enterprise Architect

ASSYST is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Enterprise Architect to provide strategic and technical leadership in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide IT solutions for our direct client in Tallahassee, Florida. 

This role serves as a critical bridge between business users, technical teams, and vendors, ensuring alignment of solutions with enterprise architecture standards and organizational goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining architectural artifacts, leading process improvement initiatives, and developing standards that ensure compliance, scalability, and interoperability across platforms.

Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099)
Job Location: Tallahassee, Florida (Fully Onsite role)

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a technical liaison between departmental business users and third-party service vendors.
  • Provide hands-on leadership in the design and re-engineering of business processes.
  • Deliver regular updates and compliance reports to stakeholders on architectural standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical architecture documentation in a centralized, version-controlled repository.
  • Participate in business requirements gathering and analysis sessions.
  • Recommend and drive enterprise architecture standards based on process improvement insights.
  • Independently contribute within cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions.
  • Rapidly gain expertise on the scope and objectives of the Technology Restoration project.
  • Collaborate closely with the PMO Program Manager and associated vendors.
  • Document existing application architecture, including interfaces and data flows across systems.
  • Define current and future-state architecture standards for mainframe, web, and mobile platforms.
  • Develop enterprise architecture models that support the organization’s infrastructure and security needs.
  • Enforce architectural compliance throughout solution design and delivery.
  • Validate proposed technical solutions against business and architectural requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience architecting complex IT systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with technical design and analytical methodologies.
  • Proven experience in large-scale projects involving infrastructure and software development.
  • Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience integrating applications across various hardware platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and motivational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in modeling tools and graphical representations of technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience modernizing and migrating legacy mainframe applications.
  • Expertise in cloud migration strategies and architectures, particularly with Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience building APIs and integrating applications using API-based architectures.
