ASSYST is seeking the services of an experienced Internet/ Web Architect to support our government customer based in Tallahassee, Florida.
This is an On-site position.
Scope of Work:
- Responsible for gathering business requirements and translating them into Internet/Web architecture to achieve business objectives.
- Analyzes specifications, plans, designs, and develops solutions using appropriate Internet/Intranet/Extranet architecture processes, either independently or in collaboration with project teams.
- Provides documentation for design decisions, estimating assumptions, applets, and performance metrics, as required by organizational standards.
- Responsible for minimizing issues between client and server applications and for the overall design and setup of the Internet and Web server architecture.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of IT experience with demonstrated expertise in architecture design, software development, database management systems, and systems integration in multi-platform environments.
- Experience leading projects or serving as a subject matter expert on initiatives of medium to high complexity involving multiple technical domains and business segments.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor junior technical staff.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field from an accredited institution, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Experience:
- Proven leadership in large-scale digital transformation or legacy system modernization initiatives.
- Experience designing solutions in hybrid environments (on-premise, cloud, and integrating SaaS/COTS).
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, particularly Waterfall project management.
- Proficiency in web technologies such as JavaScript (React, Angular, Vue), HTML/CSS, REST APIs, Node.js, .NET, or Java.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their architectural patterns.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, databases, and system interoperability.
- Ability to develop scalable, secure, and maintainable web architectures across diverse tech stacks.
- Experience creating target state architecture diagrams, transition roadmaps, and system interface designs.
- Ability to evaluate and integrate SaaS/COTS solutions into enterprise ecosystems.
- Knowledge of application rationalization and technical debt reduction strategies.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, business analysts, and product owners.
- Experience mentoring development teams and maintaining architectural consistency across projects.
- Effective in presenting architectural decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in vendor management, including assessing the technical fit of third-party solutions.
