ASSYST is seeking an experienced OpenText eDocs Administrator to support our government customer based in Tallahassee, Florida.

Location: On-site in Tallahassee, Florida

Scope of Work:
  • Application Services is seeking a highly specialized technical and functional expert for a leadership role on our Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) team.
  • The desired candidate should have 5+ years of OpenText eDOCS EDMS experience in a leadership or senior technical role, with strong skills in troubleshooting, planning, and implementation.
  • Programming skills or knowledge of .NET or other programming languages, and how they interact with third-party applications, is highly desired.
  • A strong commitment to continuous learning in EDMS, IT, software, and hardware advancements is essential.
  • The candidate will serve as a senior team member or lead, providing guidance on complex issues, and playing a key hands-on role in large-scale upgrades and implementations within FDOT.
  • They will help develop standards that maximize the use of enterprise information, improve process efficiency, and mitigate risks related to information governance and data security.
  • The role involves collaborative work with EDMS team members, strategic development teams, and management to ensure effective planning, scheduling, and implementation of deliverables.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ongoing maintenance and operational support of the EDMS infrastructure, both on-premises and in the Azure cloud.
  • Responsibilities include server monitoring, patch management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and coordination with cloud infrastructure teams to ensure availability, security, and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support OpenText ECM eDOCS Version 5.X or higher in a distributed environment.
  • Perform library maintenance and database administration using OpenText tools.
  • Provide end-user support, server management, and maintenance of EDMS environments (on-prem and Azure).
  • Monitor physical and virtual servers to ensure stability, availability, and performance.
  • Apply regular patches and configuration updates to meet security and compliance standards.
  • Manage backup and recovery processes to prevent data loss.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server- and application-level issues.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to migrate EDMS systems to Azure, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Provide ongoing support post-migration, including monitoring, applying cloud best practices, and ensuring disaster recovery readiness.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials.
  • Deliver remote or onsite training to users throughout the Department.
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues related to EDMS.
  • Serve as a liaison with business units and provide solutions or alternatives for third-party applications interacting with EDMS.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional technical issues and consult with staff as needed.
  • Provide support for meetings, conference calls, and related logistics.

Required Experience:
  • Advanced knowledge of OpenText eDOCS EDMS, preferably with experience in a leadership or escalations role.
  • Ability to confidently advise team members and management on EDMS-related matters.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in systems analysis/programming, large-scale implementations, system upgrades, and library consolidations.
  • Experience in client/server environments, supporting business-critical applications.
  • Strong ability to analyze, plan, and implement IT tools and document control systems.
  • Depth of expertise that contributes to improved project outcomes.
  • Familiarity with PMI PMBOK project management standards is a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand coding languages, including .NET.


Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Communication, or a related field. Equivalent experience in a related EDMS/ECM role may substitute for a degree.
