.Net Application Architect

ASSYST seeks a .Net Application Architect to support our government customer based in Austin, TX. The .Net Application Architect will lead the development and maintenance of multiple enterprise applications simultaneously. This role involves managing a blended team of full-time and contracted developers, applying SDLC best practices, and ensuring alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in .NET technologies and relational databases, along with excellent leadership and communication skills to collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

The position is 90% Remote, May be required to meet on-site in Austin, TX a few times per month.
The working position is Hybrid.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage multiple software development teams for enterprise applications.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment and support.
  • Build robust, custom business applications from the ground up.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance in technologies such as .NET and relational SQL databases.
  • Lead the development of ETL and data centralization for reporting.
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with contracted development resources.
  • Ensure code quality, security, and performance through code reviews and best practices.
  • Develop and track project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
Required Experience:
  • Strong hands-on experience with the .NET framework (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with both customers and development teams.
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum and traditional SDLC methodologies.
  • Proven ability to estimate work with accurate timelines and resource requirements.
  • Experience with ETL and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL).
  • Proven experience managing both full-time and contract developers.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in government or education industries.
  • Experience with Blazor Server or Blazor Web Assembly.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and reporting tools, including but not limited to Power BI.
