ASSYST is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Project Manager (Education Agency) to play a crucial role in delivering innovative software applications and infrastructure for Texas's public education system, for our client in
Austin, TX.
The successful candidate will lead Agile software development teams through the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring the timely and successful delivery of projects that align with key legislative and strategic priorities. This role requires strong leadership in Agile project management, a passion for education, and the ability to effectively manage project staff and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to drive impactful results.

Essential Functions
- Develop, implement, and evaluate project management processes to ensure consistent adherence to best practices across all teams. Proactively manage changes in project scope and schedule, and develop comprehensive project budgets, forecasts, and plans.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure application quality throughout the development lifecycle. Identify and implement measures for continuous improvement and ensure all project deliverables meet stakeholder agreements and adhere to budget constraints.
- Serve as the primary point of communication for project stakeholders. Proactively communicate project status, updates, and outcomes. Solicit feedback regularly and build strong, collaborative relationships to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Effectively manage and resolve project-related problems, conflicts, and issues. Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to ensure smooth project execution. Motivate and empower the project team to take ownership of their work and continuously improve efficiency and performance.
- Clearly articulate and champion the application and technology roadmap. Coordinate the initiation and planning of new projects to ensure they align with the organization's long-term strategic commitments and vision for the future of education technology in Texas.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience working with software application teams, demonstrating a strong command of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC), and Agile Scrum methodologies.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- 3+ years of experience working with Data Lake architecture and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification.
- Previous experience working within the education sector or a government agency.
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-level software development projects from conception to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
