ASSYST is seeking a Systems Administrator (Azure Cloud & Infrastructure) to support our government customer based in Tallahassee, FL.
The candidate must reside in Tallahassee, or the surrounding area, and report in office 5 days a week.
Scope of Services:
- The Systems Administrator to play a key role in assisting the OIT in the oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms to support infrastructure, applications, data, and other business needs.
- The duties of this position can be broad and may include such tasks as adding and removing individuals from the list of authorized users, archiving files, overseeing password protection and other security measures, and monitoring usage of shared resources.
- Architect, design, facilitate, lead, coordinate, and direct technology initiatives on multiple fronts across a variety of disparate areas within the organization.
- This could include Infrastructure administration, application development, data management & analytics, cybersecurity, external hosting, identity and access management, infrastructure, network, security hardening, privacy, and compliance.
- Oversight and management of Microsoft 365 environments and other Microsoft platforms, identity platforms, and a multi-cloud environment.
- Selects, develops, integrates and implements network management applications for Internet components.
- The Systems Administrator will be responsible for working on projects, systems, and/or issues of medium to high complexity and will be expected to provide daily operations support, maintenance, and administration for Servers.
- This position requires ownership of complex issues in order to support Department business.
Required Experience:
- 2–3 years with Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
- 2–3 years IIS Administration.
- 2–3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP, DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions.
- 2–3 years of professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems (highly desired).
- 2–3 years with other cloud providers such as AWS or GCP (highly desired).
- 2–3 years in Microsoft software administration (highly desired).
- 3–5 years in infrastructure/network environments, systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
- 3–5 years supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services (highly desired).
- 5–8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Support and expand infrastructure.
- Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties.
- Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
- Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
- Evaluate network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, latency); plan and execute selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; define network policies and procedures; establish connections and firewalls.
- Maintain network and systems performance through monitoring, analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting; escalate problems to vendors when needed.
- Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
- Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, repositories, and pipelines.
- Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
- Recommend and assist with building and hosting complex application solutions.
- Deploy and manage Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, and Microsoft 365 services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems effectively across technology platforms.
- Ability to document and automate administrative tasks to reduce manual work.
- Proficiency in networking principles and cloud-based network architectures.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, Microsoft Server products, Microsoft 365 services, and Microsoft Power Platform.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux (RedHat and Ubuntu), including patching and administration.
- Strong grasp of IT infrastructure and application development architectures.
- Skilled in system administration and hosting across a wide range of solutions.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
