QA Automation Analyst

ASSYST is seeking a QA Automation Analyst to support our government customer based in Austin, TX.

Location: Austin, TX 78751.
Position will be 3 days remote with 2 days (Thursdays and Fridays) required to be onsite
Program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position.

Scope of work:
  • Investigate and diagnose quality complaints, track down components, and recommend corrective actions. Verify logs, databases, and other data to track and flag quality concerns and improvements.
  • QA Automation Analyst  will be responsible for the development and maintenance of test scripts for both manual and automated testing.
  • Experience preparing UAT test cases, aligning them with business requirements, and conducting walkthroughs with stakeholders to ensure clarity.
  • Tracks test case execution and provide reporting. Uses Jira to log and track defects. Develops and maintains requirements traceability matrices.
  • Must have experience working in an Agile environment. Supports the development team as needed in dev, test, and UAT environments and troubleshoots defects as required.
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in writing and executing test cases, as well as creating test plans
  • Knowledge of software usability concepts, requirements traceability, and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
  • Knowledge of Xray Test Case management tool.
  • Experience working with a Scrum team in an Agile environment to deliver software release sprints for HHSC, on time, with a focus on quality using Jira and SharePoint.
  • Proficient in defect tracking and management using Jira; ability to systematically log, categorize, and prioritize defects to ensure a clear and organized record of issues.
  • Knowledge of SQL query writing to perform CRUD operations.
  • Experience in API Testing using Postman, SOAPUI, JMETER, or similar tools.
  • Experience working on different types of testing: unit, integration, regression, smoke, user acceptance, system, stress, and performance.
  • Knowledge of code coverage tools, process or systems analysis, and design work.
  • QA automation testing and scripting experience using UFT.
  • Experience with creating and reviewing performance testing scripts and analyzing results.
  • Develop detailed UAT test plans and test cases based on business requirements and record test results post execution.
  • Coordinate UAT schedules, communicate progress to stakeholders, and participate in test readiness with go/no-go recommendations.
  • Be self-driven, helping the team achieve goals and overall project delivery milestones.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and with a sprint development team.
  • Strong communication skills with varied levels of staff and end users to develop positive and effective working relationships.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to accurately track time spent on projects and estimate changes or enhancements.
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming preferred.
  • Experience working with the State of Texas HHS agency and systems preferred.
  • Proficient in using CI/CD pipelines to enhance software development testing processes.
