ASSYST is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to support our client in Austin TX

Location: Austin, TX
Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099)
Position: Hybrid

Position will be 3 days remote with 2 days (Mon & Tues) required to be onsite at the location listed above.
Program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA ONLY (Within 50-mile radius).

Position Overview

The Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business process reengineering, requirements analysis, and system evaluation, as well as strong analytical and communication skills. This role requires the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable technical requirements and to drive the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs to identify opportunities for process improvement and technology enablement.
  • Formulate business and technical solutions that align with organizational strategies and objectives.
  • Conduct business process mapping, reengineering, and workflow analysis to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Prepare solution options, risk assessments, and financial analyses, including cost-benefit, ROI, and build vs. buy evaluations.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams (Architecture, Project Delivery, Application Sustain, etc.) to ensure seamless communication and solution delivery.
  • Develop detailed documentation of business requirements, functional specifications, and process flows.
  • Participate in software development reviews, unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing to validate solution quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support implementation and change management activities.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs.
  • 8+ years of experience applying business analysis frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience in requirements, design, and testing phases.
  • Strong experience as a Data Analyst in analyzing raw data, and as a Business Analyst in requirements gathering, understanding technology, and any project management experience with PMP are a huge plus
  • Proven experience in business process reengineering and solution evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical and business audiences.
  • Hands-on experience participating in unit testing, system testing, and UAT.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience conducting cost/benefit and ROI analyses.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
