ASSYST is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and oversee all Public Safety initiatives within the client’s department. This role involves comprehensive management of Public Safety projects - spanning Police, Fire, 911, and Corrections - to ensure seamless execution, alignment with strategic objectives, and consistent communication among stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in managing complex Public Safety programs and hold an active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager will:
- Lead and manage assigned Public Safety technology projects to ensure alignment with client goals and departmental priorities.
- Oversee day-to-day project management activities, including progress tracking, risk identification, and mitigation planning.
- Ensure all projects stay within defined scope, schedule, and budget, while meeting quality and performance requirements.
- Identify and manage critical paths, milestones, testing phases, and acceptance criteria across multiple projects.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize performance outcomes.
- Monitor and resolve project issues promptly, ensuring accurate, transparent, and timely status reporting to all stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver clear and professional communications, reports, and presentations to executive and operational audiences.
- Organize and facilitate effective project meetings, including developing agendas, preparing materials, and documenting action items.
Minimum Qualifications & Required Skill Sets
Candidates must meet or exceed the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale, high-visibility, and sensitive initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
- Proven experience managing business process implementations, and software/hardware deployment or upgrade projects, using Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies.
- Strong capability in developing and maintaining project documentation aligned with PMI standards.
- Hands-on experience managing deliverables across the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
- Demonstrated ability to create and deliver executive-level presentations and communications.
- Exceptional organizational, coordination, and time management skills.
Certification Requirement
- The candidate must currently hold a valid Project, Program, Portfolio, or Agile Management Certification issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
